Caregiver Support Specialist

Position Title: Caregiver Support Specialist

Reports To: Caregiver Support Program Director

Status: Full-time – Exempt

 

Purpose of Position

The Caregiver Support Specialist provides care consultations, supportive counseling, and education to older adults and their caregivers, supplying appropriate resource information, coordinating referrals as necessary, and leading a weekly support group.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conducts care consultations and manages ongoing caseload of family caregivers
  • Responsible for follow-up activity.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation on client activity.
    • Provides coverage for necessary casework activity in the absence of other Caregiver Support Specialists.
  • Familiarizes self with resources, both locally and nationally.
    • Assists the director with preparation of all required reports and prepares monthly progress reports.
  • Assists director with the outcome evaluation of the program.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of special seminars and forums.
  • Helps develop appropriate program content for targeted audiences.
  • Collaborate with CSP Director to create opportunities for presentations, forums, and community events.
  • Builds relationships with professional organizations to further expand program.
  • Outreach to various diverse communities to increase client base.
  • Attends regular agency staff meetings, component staff meetings and in-services trainings.
  • Represents the agency at meetings in the community, as needed.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

A master’s degree in social work or related field of study from an accredited university, a licensed master level social worker preferred.   A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and at least 2 years’ experience in the field of aging and/or social services with experience working in a direct service capacity may be substituted in lieu of a master’s degree.

Purpose of Position:

In order to increase the visibility of The Senior Source in the greater Dallas community, we are making a significant investment in marketing. The Senior Source is looking for someone who loves creating marketing strategies and at the same time is equally comfortable rolling up his/her sleeves to make those strategies come to life through a multi-channel marketing plan. The Director of Marketing & Communications ensures that we are always putting our best foot forward, that we are telling our amazing story to the right people in the right way and all while maintaining the positive public image that we are so proud to have.

The Director of Marketing & Communications will serve on the Agency leadership team and will report directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement all marketing, public relations and communications for the agency. The agency has a growing advertising and PR budget, and the director will oversee, and in some cases, execute all marketing elements including paid advertising, earned media, internal and external communication pieces, internal and external videos, website and social media platforms, and event marketing
  • Lead the execution of the strategic marketing plan, plus make annual updates as appropriate
  • Oversee development and creation of and schedule all paid print, online and radio ads; plan and develop all media partnerships, proposals and monitor fulfillment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with media representatives, pitching relevant news stories to media representatives and cultivating the agency’s position as THE resource on aging.
  • Oversee the writing and design of all content and creative from conception to dissemination, including collateral materials, social media, website, digital campaigns and other materials that promote the agency and its services.
  • Partner with external agencies on SEO/SEA strategies, website design and hosting, and content management.
  • Provide marketing expertise and creative direction to program directors to support special program marketing goals, plus collaborate closely with the program team on success stories and data sharing to highlight our impact.
  • Work closely with the Chief Development Officer to support fundraising goals, including donor cultivation and stewardship, through marketing and communications efforts.
  • Oversee a staff of three marketing professionals, including in-house graphic design and copywriting.
  • Provides staff leadership and partnership for the marketing committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by President & Chief Executive Officer.

 

Qualifications:

Marketing:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a degree in communications, marketing or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in marketing or communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive marketing strategies to implementation.
  • Proven success in managing and forging relationships with members of the media
  • Experience managing or directly leading a strong social media strategy, including managing messaging and content calendars.
  • Proficiency in SEO/SEA strategies, website development/maintenance and email marketing
  • Monitor and measure effectiveness of all marketing campaigns
  • Ideal candidates must have experience in media buying, copy writing and editing, contract negotiation, as well as are knowledgeable in the principles of nonprofit management

Foster Grandparent Program Assistant Director

Position Title: Foster Grandparent Program Assistant Director

Reports To: Foster Grandparent Program Director

Purpose of Position:

The Foster Grandparent Program Assistant Director supports the program director in managing an AmeriCorps Seniors (ACS) volunteer program that recruits, places, and manages volunteers age 55+ who work one-on-one with children with special needs in educational settings. We are looking for a knowledgeable and energetic volunteer management professional who is compassionate and enthusiastic about volunteerism and the meaningful impact older adult volunteers can have in the community. Foster Grandparent Program volunteers are low-income and come from traditionally underserved areas of this community. This Assistant Director must be culturally competent and have a strong understanding of the intersectionality of racism and poverty, as well as the unique challenges many of these incredible volunteers have overcome in order to provide meaningful volunteer service.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a caseload of volunteers. Places new volunteers and ensures that volunteers are performing well in their roles. Maintains good relationships with volunteer sites and problem solves when there is an issue with a volunteer.
  • Makes regular visits to assigned FGP sites to process timesheets, observe volunteers, meet with volunteers and interact with site directors.
  • Assists with the planning, coordination and implementation of monthly in-service trainings for all volunteers.
  • Processes all FGP volunteer timesheets and runs stipend check reports and requests each month.
  • Maintains records and generates reports concerning volunteers’ attendance, transportation, meals and in-kind donations. Ensures that MOUs with all partners are active and in compliance with ACS regulations.
  • Plans and leads volunteer appreciation and recognition activities and events.
  • Oversees the performance/outcome measurement process and procedures for the program. Tracks, collects and compiles all data for program reports.
  • Assists FGP Director with all required AmeriCorps fiscal and program reports.
  • Plans and leads new volunteer training, including speakers, agendas, and materials.
  • Oversees volunteer recruitment efforts, including printed materials and recruitment events.
  • Assists with the maintenance of all volunteer records and files. Ensures compliance of records according to AmeriCorps Seniors requirements. Conducts program compliance audits once a year.
  • When needed, assists with screening and processing new volunteers through in-person interviews, reference checks, and paperwork.
  • Conduct presentations and community outreach regarding the program and organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the FGP Director or COO.

Guardianship Case Manager

Position Title: Guardianship Case Manager

Reports To: Guardianship Program Director

Status: Full Time; Exempt

 

Purpose of Position:

The Guardianship Case Manager supports vulnerable older adults who have been determined by the courts to need guardianship protection by ensuring all health and well-being needs of clients are met.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly face to face visits to assess well-being, inquire of needs and advocate for older adults with cognitive impairments
  • Serve on-call 24/7 for client emergencies during specified times
  • Document case notes of all client activities in a detailed, accurate, timely manner per contract guidelines and in compliance with HIPAA, Texas Medical Privacy Act, and Texas Identify Theft Enforcement and Protocol Act
  • Coordinate timely completion of required reports, including but not limited to Annual Reports, Service Plans, and Bill of Rights reviews
  • Make all decisions for guardianship clients in a client-centered manner by encouraging self-determination, by use of substituted judgment or best interest standards, as appropriate
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and willingness to facilitate inquiries of poor care to ensure the well-being of highly vulnerable individuals, including assessment for least restrictive alternatives and make arrangements for alternative placement when indicated
  • Coordinate and attend medical appointments, gain knowledge of clients’ diagnoses, work with medical professionals to determine treatment options, advocate for best care practices, and make all medical decisions for clients
  • Work with our Guardianship Benefits Coordinator or other financial responsible parties to apply for and maintain entitled supports and services and to monitor financial records and benefits status on-going to ensure accuracy
  • Work with families and friends of guardianship clients who may have challenging family dynamics to provide education and direction, as well as build working relationships to facilitate positive and healthy connections
  • Testify in Court for routine and complicated guardianship matters and knowledge of court procedures
  • Interact routinely with the probate courts, county courts, court personnel, clerks, and attorneys
  • Report any concern for abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the proper authorities including the Department of Aging and Disability Services, Adult Protective Services, Office of Inspector General, Long Term Care Ombudsman, and/or local law enforcement
  • Developing a working knowledge of, and remaining current on, local, state and national issues involving guardianship, and engaging in systems advocacy related to those issues, when appropriate
  • Attend regular team meetings, all-staff meetings, and in-service training sessions
  • Ability to perform work duties independently but also equally available to collaborate with colleagues on client, program and agency activities.
  • Integrate technology to remain accountable in the field by maintaining a shared calendar and remaining available for on-going communication during work hours through various electronic modes
  • Commitment to ensuring and maintaining accuracy of client information in Salesforce database
  • Comfortable and collaborative in accepting supervisory direction pertaining to decision making and other case manager activities
  • Ensure all responsibilities of case manager are performed within time frames and requirements of Texas Minimum Standards for Guardianship Services, TGA and NGA Standards, the Texas Estates Code and any contracts or grants Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas, Inc. d/b/a The Senior Source has for guardianship services
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of full time experience (with Master’s degree) or two years of full time experience (with Bachelor’s degree) in direct social service work. (LMSW preferred)
  • Ability to pass a state certification test and become a certified guardian within a year of hire date.
  • Experience working older adults, and experience working with volunteers, a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Outreach Manager

Position Title: Outreach Manager

Reports To: Caregiver Support Program Director

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Outreach Manager is responsible for assisting the Director in all aspects of raising the visibility of the Caregiver Support Program by cultivating and developing new relationships within the non-profit, corporate, healthcare and faith-based communities to support family caregivers.  The Outreach Manager will achieve this goal by participating in community events, conducting education seminars, and providing care consultations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Outreach to various non-profit, corporate, healthcare and faith-based communities to increase visibility and client base.
  • Organize and represent the Caregiver Support Program at various outreach programs held throughout the year such as conferences, exhibits, events, churches, senior facilities and health and wellness fairs.
  • Initiate speaking engagements with local organizations to increase exposure to Caregiver Support programs and service.
  • Arrange individual and/or small group presentations discussing services offered by the Caregiver Support Program with the goal of scheduling an education presentation or care consultation for caregivers.
  • Conduct educational presentations on topics related to caregiving and aging services.
  • Generate prospective leads and follow up to discuss services the Caregiver Support Program offers.
  • Develop deep ties within the community and continuously connect with new prospective clients.
  • Partner with pastors, ministry personnel, healthcare staff and other community partners to provide appropriate literature and information about the Caregiver Support Program and The Senior Source
  • Maintain appropriate documentation on education presentations and any client activity.

Purpose of Position:

The Senior Companion Program Volunteer Coordinator supports this engaging, innovative AmeriCorps Seniors (ACS) volunteer program by recruiting, placing, and managing volunteers age 55+ to assist frail older adults wanting to continue living independently in the community, as well as families needing respite assistance as they care for aging loved ones. Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create a plan and a framework around a social media and digital marketing strategy to increase followers and engagement in the community. The Senior Source is active on Facebook and LinkedIn and to lesser extents Twitter and Instagram.
  • Keep abreast of societal trends on aging to enhance our status as thought leader in the aging space and community
  • Work with our program teams to promote stories of their clients and volunteers. Attend client and volunteer events to capture visual, audio and written content.
  • Create ads for paid social media campaigns
  • Work with other marketing team members to deliver a seamless marketing look and feel for the agency
  • Manage the email marketing program via Mailchimp to ensure an integrated marketing approach through multi-channel marketing
  • Track and measure social media performance and report on the successes of each campaign
  • Provide updates and data points to leadership to demonstrate progress and successes on a monthly basis
  • Serve as a champion of older adults and of the agency to contribute to an outstanding culture of diversity, inclusion, professional development, and care.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a social media specialist
  • Intimate knowledge of social media platforms, WordPress, audience behaviors, best practices, and trends
  • Insatiable curiosity and passion for creative content across social media
  • Collaborative spirit and pleasant disposition to work with the marketing team and program teams to ensure success
  • Significant experience using cellphone video, photo and recording devices to capture experiences and stories for social (and other related) media content
  • A deep understanding of the analytics and metrics of social performance and the ability to interpret data and observations to enhance our presence
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual prospects are encouraged to apply

 

Salary: $55,000.00
