Need help with utility bills?
We have two ways to help you with utility payments:
- As of April 15, 2025, we have funds to help toward utility bill payments for TXU Energy and Ambit Energy. We are currently out of funds to help with Atmos Energy bill payments. This utility assistance is for people 60 or older who live in Dallas County or Collin County. Click here to go to the form to apply.
- For electric and gas, we can help those 50 and older who live in Dallas County apply for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP). Not every energy company participates in the CEAP program, and our screening process will help you see if you are eligible for assistance. Please see the information below about how to apply for CEAP.

To apply for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP):
We will help those who are 50 and older in Dallas County apply for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program to help with electric and gas bills. Please make an appointment by contacting:

Documents Required for *ALL* Household Members when applying for CEAP
- Copy of birth certificate or passport
- Copy of Picture ID or Driver’s license for all household members 18 years+
- Copy of Social Security card or shot record or school record for all household members 17 years or younger
- Copies of all household income earned within the last 30 days
- SNAP Benefit Letter (if applicable)
