Even after a year with COVID vaccines, we still feel like celebrating each time we have a triumphant return to normalcy. That was the case last month when PepsiCo-Frito Lay hosted their annual United Way Day of Caring Fair in person once again at Golden Acres Living and Rehabilitation Center. They have sponsored this wonderful fair for the residents since 2017. In 2020 and 2021, they had to celebrate remotely by dropping needed supplies and goody bags at the door. This year they returned to an in-person fair, and Friendly Visitor Program Director, Marsha Evans, called it “magical.” “You could feel the energy and excitement in the air,” she added. “The smiles, laughs, hugs, and conversations were priceless.”
