Course Description
Phishing is simply pretending to be someone you are not in order to trick a victim into revealing information. In business phishing attacks, this often means sending an email that appears to be from someone within the company. For you, it might mean an email that appears to be from your bank or a text that appears to be from the IRS. Phishing attacks are everywhere because they are so successful and, no doubt, you will be targeted.
This course explains what phishing is and how cybercriminals use social engineering–the art of emotional manipulation–to trick victims into revealing passwords and other sensitive information. The course uses lots of examples to teach the student how to recognize the hallmarks of phishing attempts.
