Purpose of Position:
The Friendly Visitor Manager is responsible for developing and managing individuals, corporate and other group volunteers to reduce isolation and loneliness and improve the quality of life for nursing home and assisted living residents in Dallas County. The primary focus of this role is building relationships with corporate partners, civic organizations, schools, and other groups to engage them in meaningful volunteer activities, such as friendly visits and special events.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all aspects of the Friendly Visitor Project, including recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers.
• Build and nurture relationships with corporate partners, schools, retiree groups, churches, and civic organizations to increase volunteer participation.
• Develop and implement strategies for corporate group volunteer engagement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the needs of long-term care facilities.
• Organize and oversee group volunteer events, coordinating with facility staff to ensure successful experiences for both volunteers and residents.
• Maintain and grow online volunteer opportunity listings and actively participate in recruitment fairs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
• Collaborate with activity directors in nursing homes and assisted living facilities to ensure smooth volunteer operations and align group efforts with resident needs.
• Coordinate holiday donation drives, matching corporate and civic group volunteers with residents and facilities in need.
• Maintain regular communication with volunteers, track volunteer hours, and prepare reports to ensure accurate record-keeping and impact measurement.
• Assist with the general operation of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and assume responsibilities in the director’s absence as needed.
• Work evenings and weekends, as needed for specific activities, with some flexibility in work hours.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree, with at least two years of experience in volunteer management, corporate partnership engagement, or related fields.
