Texas Senior Medicare Patrol
Texas Senior Medicare Patrol volunteers give presentations to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers teaching them to detect and report health care fraud and abuse. Some of our volunteers contact local groups to schedule presentations, and others train with us to be presenters.
By providing education and support, Texas SMP helps seniors recognize and report deceptive practices. With healthcare fraud costing the system billions each year, it’s vital for beneficiaries to stay informed. Texas SMP offers free resources, workshops, and personalized counseling to help individuals safeguard their Medicare information, understand medical billing, and take action if they encounter suspicious activity. Through these efforts, Texas SMP plays a crucial role in reducing fraud and ensuring that seniors receive the care they deserve.
