Position Title: RSVP Program Coordinator

Reports To:                RSVP Program Director

Status:             Full-time


  1. Actively manages all aspects of the Education projects, oversees general project operations and ensures project goals are met.
  2. Recruits, trains and places older volunteers in project sites.
  3. Regularly monitors education sites and ensures meaningful volunteer opportunities.
  4. Regularly communicates with all school/site staff and designated coordinators to ensure the project is understood, volunteers are adding value and issues are resolved promptly.
  5. Provides ongoing training for volunteers and staff at the schools/sites.
  6. Assists in the coordination of transportation for the volunteers and drives the van when necessary.
  7. Assists with planning and preparation of volunteer trainings and annual recognition.
  8. Attends regular staff meetings and trainings.
  9. Prepares all reports necessary for education project funding sources, as well as all project reports necessary for RSVP.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by RSVP Director or Director of Programs.



  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field of aging, volunteerism or education.
  2. Sensitivity to the needs of older adults and the ability to relate to the backgrounds and experiences of the various senior volunteers.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively, recruit volunteers and direct older adults in working effectively with young children.
  4. Skilled at organizing, planning and implementing activities to further project goals.
  5. Licensed driver with a good driving record that meets the approval of insurance carrier.
  6. Computer proficiency needed to prepare reports and manage project operation.
