Our April 22 dinner has been cancelled, however, the vital services which our Sage Society members support are needed now more than ever.

The Senior Source is redirecting its efforts to ensure seniors who are isolated at home or in a nursing home or assisted living facility are safe, feel connected and have their basic needs met.

To continue these services, we humbly ask that you consider making an additional gift (see below) to help us raise the remaining $100,000.

$10,000 – Scholars

Equips The Senior Source staff with the technology needed to work remotely in the short term and to improve organization efficiency in the long term.

$5,000 – Philosophers

Provides 80 older adults with utility assistance, as well as budgeting and benefits enrollment to help provide them with financial security.

$2500 – Masters

Serves four vulnerable, older adults who have been victimized by frauds and scams—seeking justice, assessing their current financial situation and helping them live as comfortably as possible.

$1,200 – Mentors

Ensures a day of Guardianship services for our clients who can no longer make sound decisions for themselves and who have no one in their lives able or willing to do so.

$600 -Friends

Hosts six support group meetings for family caregivers in need of supportive counseling, assistance, guidance and care.

The Senior Source invites our Sage Society members to a newly created lunch series called On the Menu. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults and this series will share firsthand client stories and helpful information for you and your loved ones. While future meetings will be in person, this one will be via Zoom. So grab your lunch and get ready to learn!

Please join us on Wednesday, April 8, at noon via ZOOM

Our Elder Financial Safety Center team will discuss the latest Frauds and Scams preying on people’s fears of the novel coronavirus.

We ask that you register in advance, after which you’ll receive instructions on how to join the meeting.

Dr. Charles Sprague

Dr. Charles Sprague was the driving force behind the establishment of The Sage Society.

He served as its first chairman, and he continued to guide its development until the time of his death in 2005.

The two major goals of the society are:

  • to build financial support for our services that improve the quality of life of our community’s older adults
  • to educate community leaders on the challenges and concerns of the aging population.

In these days of shrinking support and public funds, community becomes vital if we are to meet the increasing needs of older adults and their families. With THE SAGE SOCIETY, we hope to highlight the urgency of giving older Americans a higher place on the agenda of community concerns and create a brighter future for all generations.

The financial support the Sage Society generates allows The Senior Source to be proactive in enhancing and expanding our services to the rapidly increasing number of older adults in the greater Dallas area.  To download and mail in the membership form, please click the Membership Form button below.
